Iran Rejects Allegations of Argentinean President

Iran's foreign ministry denounced claims of Argentinean president as 'distortion of realities', emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns terrorist acts in all forms and all places.

Tehran condemned AMIA bombing in Buenos Aires and expressed sympathy with the families of the victims, said Bahram Qasemi, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman.

Bombing at the Jewish center AMIA on July 18, 1994, killed 85.

Iran, as a goodwill gesture, accepted the Argentinean president's offer for talks in 2012 via the UN General Assembly to contribute to uncovering the truth and administering justice on the explosion, Qasemi said, adding that the step was then followed by signing a memorandum of understanding in 2013 for more cooperation on fact-finding .

Tehran is still stressing its willingness for a constructive cooperation with Argentinean officials, and has proposed a new initiative to Buenos Aires.
